Funding model
The Royal Canadian Legion is a not-for-profit, membership-based organization. We provide for Veterans and their families in need, promote Remembrance, and provide essential services within our communities. Funding to fulfil our mission is provided through a number of sources, including:
Membership Dues
Membership dues are determined at the Branch level and help support Branch operations. Dues are typically between $40-$60 per member per year. A portion of member dues support national and provincial operations such as administration, member programs and benefits, marketing and facilities.
Fund Raising
A large part of the funding for Legion Branches is through fundraising. Branch members volunteer their time to organize fundraising activities such as BBQs, dinners, bingo nights, etc., to raise additional monies for operations and programming. See monthly Calendar for seasonal events.

During Winter Months we suggest making packages smaller to fit into bins OR place under Legion Overhang on same side of parking lot to keep things unharmed until pickup. Thank you for choosing our Donation campaign for your gently used items. Stay Safe!
Hall Rentals
RCL Branch 230 opens its doors to many events through the year, both for public and private functions.
While we do have a variety of seasonal Sports leagues and Legion events, we also host or rent our facilities for Birthdays, Anniversaries, Funerals, Weddings and Special Events like the Annual Poppy Campaign and Annual McMaster Children's Hospital Benefit.
